Whether you are completely new to meditation or looking to deepen your established practice, our teachers offer practical guidance, warmth, and encouragement every step of the way.

Resident Teacher
Gen Kelsang Dema
Gen Dema is the Resident Teacher at Samudra Kadampa Buddhist Centre. With many years of dedicated study and practice, Gen Dema has earned recognition for her deep understanding of Buddhist teachings and her ability to convey these teachings with clarity and compassion.
Over the years she has touched the hearts of thousands of people, inspiring them to integrate Buddha's teachings into their modern daily lives.
She is currently teaching the Foundation Programme on Monday evenings, the lunchtime meditation class in Macclesfield on Mondays, the Tuesday evening class at the centre in Buxton, the Thursday lunchtime class in Chapel-en-le-frith and the Thursday evening class in Glossop.
Kevin Bradd
Kevin has been a student of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for 30 years and has been teaching General Programme classes for over 20 years.He is a dedicated student and is a great example of how to integrate Buddha's teachings into daily life. He is also studying on Foundation Programme. Kevin’s great knowledge helps support all students understand the benefits of training their minds as a path to happiness.Classes: at Leek on Wednesday Evenings and at Samudra Centre on Wednesday Morning.


Jan Horvath
Jan has been a student of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for almost 25 years and has been teaching General Programme Classes for over 20 years. Jan has a deep understanding of Buddhism and a clear teaching style and inspiring way he leads meditation classes. Many people have been inspired by Jan to go onto study Buddhism in more depth. Jan is currently studying on the Special Teacher Training Programme and is the Education Programme Coordinator of Samudra Centre (EPC).Classes: at Prestbury on Wednesday Evenings
David Hatfield
Dave is one of the founder members of Samudra Centre having been involved since the very beginning. Although the first Centre in Buxton has now relocated in Ashe Hall in Etwall and is the flourishing Tara International Retreat Centre, Dave remains in Buxton having helped to establish a new centre - Samudra Centre - where he has taught and worked for many years. We are very fortunate to have his clear and light hearted wisdom and guided meditation classes at the newly opened group in New Mills.
